Midvale Community Lutheran Church's Vision
Mission Statement
Midvale Community Lutheran Church is a Community of Believers in Christ Jesus, Called by God to Praise, Live and Share Christ's Love.
Vision Statement
Midvale Community Lutheran Church, building on a strong and stable history, opens itself to a new vision of ministry in this West Madison neighborhood of which we are a part. We seek to be a community of faith where people of all ages and backgrounds will feel invited, welcomed, challenged, and refreshed. We seek to become an evangelizing community, offering many opportunities for worship and praise, growth in righteousness and right ways of living, and increased compassion, neighborhood outreach, and service. As a congregation richly blessed with personal and financial resources, we seek to remain open to new directions and new pastoral leadership as God calls us to ministry in this time and place.
Our vision is that Midvale Community Lutheran Church will be:
A welcoming Community reaching out to offer the Gospel to all and appreciating the diversity of age, color, social station, sexual orientation, and differing abilities.
A worshiping Community praising God through Word and Sacrament and encouraging new forms of expression that invite all members, especially children and youth, to regular worship.
A dynamic (active) Community offering a variety of avenues for involvement in ministry and discipleship, including inter-generational activities for children, youth, and seniors.
A learning Community of all ages relating the Gospel to major issues of our day, strengthening our understanding of Christian witness in this rapidly changing, secular and diverse world, and assuring a strong foundation of faith in our homes as we nurture our children and youth, and all who are in our care.
A Community of stewards responsibly giving their resources of time, energy and possessions to serve God and to care for the earth and its people.
A compassionate Community seeking new and stronger ways to reach out and respond to the needs of others in our neighborhood, city and worldwide.
A connected Community that brings pastoral leadership, lay leadership, congregational members, and staff into a caring, collaborative partnership committed to carrying out God's mission for this church.
A responsible Community caring for our buildings so that they may enable our activities and offer spaces to our community.
