Advent begins

The season of Advent begins this weekend. This Advent we are asking Jesus to come now. Come into our lives and into our world with awesome deeds that make God's love and justice known. The prophet Isaiah, in our Bible reading for worship, speaks to God’s people who are alienated, confused and feeling abandoned.(Isaiah 64:1-9) Isaiah cries out to God, “Tear open the heavens and come.” The prophet goes on to remind God's people that God will come. The prophet recounts God’s unexpected, awesome deeds. As we hear these words, we are encouraged to remember, in our own lives, the situations where the surprising power of God has strengthened us. We are further invited to be aware of God's presence with us right now. Why wait?! Join us for worship this weekend and meet Jesus now!
