Middle East Crisis

Due to escalating conflict in Gaza and Israel, a severe humanitarian crisis is rapidly unfolding in the Holy Land. The ELCA has a longstanding relationship with partners in the region, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and Augusta Victoria Hospital.

Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton has issued a letter of solidarity, writing, "God has called us to be a people who stand with others amid suffering. We are committed to our long-standing accompaniment of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land."

What you can do:
Pray - Please pray for people in the Middle East who have been impacted by the conflict. May God's healing presence give them peace and hope in their time of need.

Give - Your gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response designated for “Middle East Crisis” will be used entirely (100%) to provide long-lasting support to those whose lives have been impacted by disasters in the region. You can give online from Midvale's website by selecting the ELCA Disaster Response Fund or mail or drop off a check, payable to Midvale or to ELCA Disaster Response with "Middle East Crisis" on the memo line.
